And they named the newly confirmed 10th planet what?

So tonight I heard from Carl that there was a trailer for Serenity during the showing of Firefly on the Sci Fi channel. As such, I decided to back off from the computer and watch the two hours tonight. During the first half, they had an ad promoting the world premiere of the Serenity trailer during the second half. Well, they had a few of those ads. A trailer for a trailer... how extravagent.

Anyway, the trailer was amusing. The effects look like they are on a completely different level. I will speak nothing as to the contents of the trailer as while it gave away nothing exceedingly new or surprising to one who's watched the TV show it did seem to make clear what the plot is (if you are one of the readers who know better, please do not clarify).

That interview went very well. Now begins the waiting period.

I've got an interview this Thursday at SAIC! Between now and then, I only have to fill out and fax 12 pages of forms, collect my thoughts, and not fall behind on my final tasks for my most current position.

Many things have been coming along on the web site since my last post. I figure that in the next week or so I'll be finished with the war gaming section and start expanding the new changes to other areas. It should be good.

In the last week, I've been going to Aikido a lot. It's been enjoyable. On top of that, I've been going outside and doing this or that. One day was ultimate frisbee, another day was frisbee golf. I might be ok at ultimate, but I am horrid at frisbee golf. The disks are smaller and heavier, and are intended to survive being thrown into walls or trees and be able to fall from trees. My disk only got stuck in one tree, and all I had to do was kick it for the disk to fall. So with the different size, I couldn't get much distance on my throws, and started throwing the disk overhand and relying on a long roll (sometimes it'd keep rolling).

I've made some progress on the war gaming section of my website, and have begun a campaign-style battle report for Rome: Total War. I'm mostly done with the behind-the-scenes work, but I will continue to add to it as new needs arise. At some point, I'll get to the other sections of the website too.

With the free time that has been brought up, I will be working on my website. I've upgraded teh account level so that I can use PHP and MySQL, so the content will be handled dynamically, making for more frequent updating. I've got a few uses for it in mind, but it will be interesting to see how the site evolves. One of my friends uses PHP all over his site, and his updates are done writing no HTML. For a personal site, it's pretty powerful and complete.

Free time also opens up the door for more athletics. Every week day at lunch time I'll be doing either Aikido or Ultimate Frisbee. Well, between playing computer games, working with my website, programming, and searching for a job.

So the job search is going well. I've gotten my resume to 5 companies, and one is talking about bringing me on doing part time while some things iron out (leaving me to enjoy the summer and continue to explore my possibilities).

This week is my last normal week at work, after this I don't get paid. We're discussing something about working for computer equipment (since I'll be around and want to keep working some atleast), but that isn't ironed out yet either.

In mid August, I'll be traveling to the midwest to see my cousins and Carl. Hopefully Pat will come down to OK, but that is yet to be decided. Because of this trip, it would be good to not start a full time job until late August or September, which gives me a summer vacation of sorts.
