I forgot to come back to the Pizza Hut thing.

So today I called up to order the $5 pizza I was promissed. I had to explain to the guy what I was doing (I was told it would be noted on my account and no explaining would be needed). Then he wanted to charge me a delivery fee. I told him "The guy last night said it was $5 so it's $5." He took a moment to recompute and came back with $4.95. He said it would be an hour.

30 minutes pass and I hear the door bell. Unfortunately, the delivery guy did not have change for my $20. I only had that and 4 ones. I went and got about $1.50 in change from my jeans. He seemed content and rushed off (as I was appoligizing he was saying time was more important). I felt sorry for giving him such a cruddy tip, but back when I was doing delivery I always made sure I could make change.

The three P's of grad school: presentations, papers and projects. Thankfully, I'm only reading the papers, not writing them.

I ordered a pizza from Pizza Hut last night. I was feeling lazy and didn't feel like going out for dinner (and didn't have much that I felt like eating around the apartment). After an hour, I called in to see what was up. They said it was on it's way. I called again in 30 minutes and find out that the delivery guy didn't have the apartment number (which I had given), had called me (I was by the phone all night), and had already left. They couldn't deliver another pizza because the dough had expired and the oven was dead. They said I could call back another night and get the same order for $5 (more on this later).

I drove over to Panera for dinner, but sat in the parking lot for half an hour while on the phone with my team while discussing the class project. When I got in and ordered, I got a whole grain baguette (my doctor recommended I eat more whole grains). It was so good that I bought a full baguette to go. When I got back, the Korean couple were just getting back (I often proof read the husband's sermons). He had some fruit drink I hadn't seen before and offered me one. I offered some of my bread in return.

Soo... because I was lazy, Pizza Hut dropped the ball, team meeting for class, and really good whole grain bread, I was able to spontaneously break bread and share drink with a brother in Christ.

With the return of class comes the return of some of my old hobbies. I'm not sure it's so much of a bad thing, actually as I have spent most of my at-home time the last year and a half in this half-stuper; usually doing little more than watching TV.

I'm playing the PS2 more, and I've resumed work on painting miniatures. I don't think this is bad as long as it doesn't get out of control. Balance is key.

I came across this little gem on a forum. It's about the glories of Hummer H2s.

I still have a roommate, right?

I don't know when I saw Andrew last. It was sometime last week... maybe.

Today was a bit crazy. I was trying to get into a graduate-level, software-engineering class at UCSD.

The first class I tried was User Interface Design. Unfortunately, the assigned professor has been on medical leave since last quarter. They aren't sure if the class will be taught by one of his TAs, or cancelled.

The second class I tried was Software Reliability Methods. Unfortunately, I got the impression that this wouldn't be the best choice for me at this point. Part of it is the theoretical focus. Part is the group project (which the third class has as well).

The third class I went to is Advanced Topics in Software Engineering: Automated Test Data Generation. Quite a mouthful. Anyway, the prof seemed good and we could use the knowledge I'd be getting at my current project. I chose this one.

It is different being back on campus. I'm around people who are mostly my age (or younger). I feel like I'm back at Northwestern. I do like it, although I wonder if I'll regret it near finals.
