Wheels and Tires
I bought a set of wheels from a fellow auto-crosser here in San Diego. He drives an Impreza RS coupe, and he needed slightly smaller ones for his class. On the other hand, they are the perfect size (and almost ideal weight) for my class. He already had tires on them, so I don't have to turn around immediately and buy new tires (although... I might do that soon).
In the long run, this is supposed to save me money while bringing more enjoyment when racing. I can buy less expensive tires for daily driving (all season ones that last a long time) while getting more expensive tires for racing (but I won't drive on them as much, so they just need to survive the track). Atleast, that's the theory. Reality is that this opens a big can of worms.
Signs of the Apocalypse
So some things at work didn't happen when they were expected to, and we're still waiting. They have estimates for when it'll be done, and it will be good times once it is.
For those keeping track of the count down to the apocalypse, I've been dating someone for a little over a month. Interpret that as you will.
Lastly, here's a story about a guy who's got
worse luck than John.
Busy Two Weeks
Ok, so a week ago I was in Hawaii. I scuba dived, snorkled, went to the beach, drank mai tais at the pool, and watched my cousin get married (and got to know the new extension of my family).
The wedding went well, pictures were taken, 25 year old scotch was drank (atleast, by me). Extremely good steaks were eaten. It was great.
The hotel was a Japanese American place. They had a japanese style bath-house where it was no clothes and seperate genders. It became a running joke for the week. Some of my cousins and the others went (seperately) when others weren't around. My aunt snuck in with her suit for a short bit (no one was around). I heard from the maid that occasionally people end up having an impromptu party in either the men's or women's sides (but with both genders present and clothed or something) with beer and such and they have to throw them out of there.
