Spring Break The biggest problem with working while going to school is that you have the worst vacation situation possible. A student gets Christmas, Spring, and Summer breaks which give plenty of time to enjoy the sun or to do nothing but rest. An employee normally gets between 2 and 3 weeks a year. So not only do I have to take vacations during school holidays (when things are busier), but I have a limited number of vacation days in which to do it.

So all of my Spring Break trips are over the weekend. That's right, I have two mini trips. I'm going up to the local mountains on a retreat with church this weekend and next weekend I'm going to Orlando for, well, if you don't know you haven't been reading my blog OR talking to me. I'm not going to Disney World (at least, I don't think I am this time).

  Meet the Parents I visited Brittany in Chicago last weekend. She was home to see her family, and so I got to meet them. Much fun was had by all. We didn't do too much, and relaxed mostly. Too bad it was too short (Friday late at night to Sunday afternoon).

I flew on Southwest, and this time I was much more pleased than I have been with United. I think it's because United hasn't been taking as good of care of me as a customer as I would like (or at some times, expect).

I will be flying to Orlando in two weeks, so the wait won't be too long.

I want to take a class in parallel computing. We have a project that will let us use thousands of processors at the San Diego Computing Center. I was thinking of setting up a massive Pong tournament...

  Beer + Engineer = ? Of all of the things I can post about right now, apparently this story is what got me to post. I am very amused by the video. More details here.

I'll be in Chicago this weekend meeting the parents and sister. No, I'm not worried.
